John Eric Morgan

John Eric Morgan departed this earthly life on March 25, 2024 at the age of 72. He was born on March 24, 1952, to John Henry Morgan and Nan M. (Clay) Mynatt, who preceded him in death. John graduated from Auburn High School in 1971 and later attended Iowa Central on a football scholarship. He went on to serve in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Seattle later obtaining his B.A. in computer science/computer programming from Devry College. John had a successful career in electrical engineering and computer programming. He was a passionate sports fan who enjoyed tennis, golf, football, track, and car racing. He kept fit through marathons and daily walks with his dog Maggie. His other interests were photography, history, philosophy, computers, and music (especially the Black Crows). John lived life on his terms without any regrets. John is survived by his son, Nicholas Eric Morgan, his granddaughter, Josephine Ivy Morgan, his sister, Gail M. Morgan-Buffington, his nephew, Morgan T. Buffington, and his niece, Nannette C. Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shelly-Ann Morgan.
