Topeka LaLisse Barnes - Bell was born July 6th, 1977 to Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie M. Burch in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Topeka accepted Christ at an early age while attending El Bethel Temple in Miami, Florida. As a youth, Topeka served on both the Usher Board and sang in the Choir at Mt. Zion Apostolic Church. Topeka followed in her Grandmother Janie Barnes footsteps and became an accomplished Cook and Hair Stylist. While her Mother worked, she was a dedicated sibling to her two younger sisters, and became fondly known as " Mama Peka".
Topeka met her Husband Anthony "Tony" Bell in 2003 while residing in Miami, Florida. They were wed in Rockford, Illinois on Dec. 3rd, 2014. Topeka was a charitable giver and opened her home to those she knew were in need. Topeka was cheerful, loving, highly motivated, and she "loved life"!
Topeka is survived by her loving husband, Anthony Bell of Rockford, IL; her daughter Krysha McGriff of Port St. Lucie, Florida; two sons, Brenden and John-Tyler, her parents Brenda and Johnnie Burch; one brother, Troy Barnes of Ft. Meyers Florida, and two sisters; Carleen Burch of LeHigh, FL. and Jasmine Roby of Rockford, IL. and a host of niece's, nephews, cousins and close friends.
