Tomis Ray (Poison) Ferguson, 63 of Rockford departed his life on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in Forest City Rehab and Nursing Center after a long illness. He was born February 18, 1952 in Rockford. The son of Arzo and Irma Ferguson. He was a freelance artist, stylish dresser and many more talents. Tomis leaves to cherish his memories, one son Tomis Ray, Jr. of Charlotte, NC: Three grandchildren, Tomis Ray III, Tamyah of Rockford; and Taylah Rae of Charlotte, NC; three sisters, Gwen Ross, Theresa (Howard) Parha, and Gloria James Watson-Haley of Rockford; four aunts, maternal aunts, Elberta Francis of Peoria, IL, Orell Hollingshed of Rockford, paternal aunts, Elzada and Elizabeth Ferguson of Rockford; two paternal uncles, Damon and Joe Ferguson of Arkansas; sister in law Camena (James) Ferguson of Ypsilanti, MI. A host of neices, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Predeceased by father, mother, maternal and paternal grandparents, two brothers, Roy and James Ferguson and special friend Janice Pothour.
