Rogrick L Whitmore

January 23, 1968 ~ September 16, 2017 (age 49) 49 Years Old
While surrounded by his loving family, Ricky Lamon Whitmore, age 49,
peacefully entered into eternity after a long and courageous fight with a
rare form of cancer on September 17, 2017. He was born January 23,
1968 in Monroe, LA to Joe Daniel and Mary Lee Whitmore. Ricky attended
schools in Rockford and obtained his G.E.D. from Rock Valley College. He
met and married his soulmate, Anana, whom he fell in love with at first
sight. The couple welcomed 2 children into their union, Lamon and LaAna
Whitmore.
After working for Chrysler for many years, he retired and dove into his
passion of music. He was an anointed and accomplished musician who
naturally played many instruments. He loved being the minister of music
at Faith Temple Church. Amongst his many talents, he was also quite the
comedian and actor who would often entertain at social functions as
"Pretty Ricky."
Ricky gave his life to the most high at an early age. He was blessed with
the "gift of faith," which he explained as the ability to make or do anything
he wanted because he believed he could. He used that gift to build "Get
Down Entertainment Studio". Ricky was passionate about landscaping and
the upkeep of his yard. When time permitted, he enjoyed different hobbies.
The latest was the restoration of his boat.
Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Anana Whitmore of 24 years, 6 daughters;
Jessica and Jazmine Jennings, Christine, Raquel and LaAna Whitmore,
Ashley Whitmore (Ronald Goodman) two sons; Michael Jennings, and
Lamon Whitmore, five grandchildren; Israel and Lovely Ellis, Gabriella and
Gabriel Panchol and James Malwal Jr.. His mother Mary and stepfather Otis
Walker, 4 sisters; Mary (Edward) Smith, Marilyn "Lorenzo Lambert, Belinda
Yancy and Pamela Washington, two brothers; Roy (Clara) Whitmore, and
Hosie Baskins Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends. Ricky was predeceased
by his father Joe Daniel Whitmore.
