Osie L. (Yancey) Boddie, 81, was born April 30, 1936, in Rockford, IL, to Frank and Genevieve Yancey. Osie graduated from West High School, Rockford Business School, and Nursing School. She served as a nurse in Rockford for 31 years. Osie was born into the church and remained a faithful member until her death. While a member of the Israel of God's Church she was appointed church treasurer by Rev. Marion Taylor and served as the treasurer for over 25 years. She cared deeply for the role she played in the church and performed that role to the fullest. During her tenure as treasurer she worked closely with the church secretary, Sis. Mickie Foreman, and developed a close bond. She passed away May 11, 2017. Osie leaves behind one son Will (Kianna) Boddie Jr.; brother, William (Ruth) Yancey of Rockford; two grandsons Malik and Noah, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Osie was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Willie Boddie Sr.; siblings, Booker, Sharon, Harry, Benny, Mary, Alfred and Henry.
