Matthew Anthony Fulgiam, 31, of Rockford departed this earthly life August 3, 2015. He was born July 27, 1984, in Alton, Illinois to Linda and Michael Fulgiam. Matthew was the loving and devoted father of a son; his son was his heart and his hope for the future. Matthew never met anyone who was not a friend. He was always happy when he was around lots of people. He was an avid reader and a writer of poems and short stories. Matt worked many jobs, but liked home remodeling and being self-employed. He graduated from Lincoln Academy and received a CNA certificate from Rock Valley Community College. He had an adventurous spirit, and a passion for new experiences. Matt leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Linda Fulgiam; father, Michael Fulgiam; son, Laki Fulgiam; sister, Temeka (John) Cole; and grandmother, Lillie Mae Fulgiam. Matthew has a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends. Predeceased by grandmother, Mary Ellen Lang and aunt, Joanne Fulgiam.
