Marsha Elaine Jefferson-Scott was born December 28, 1947 in Beloit, Wisconsin to Az and Delaphine McCraley Jefferson. She graduated from Beloit Memorial High School and in 1963 from the Beauty School of Cosmetology. She moved to Rockford, IL in 1971. Marsha worked as a Beautician for 50 years, always owning and operating her own Beauty Shops.
Marsha joined Macedonia Baptist Church in 1971and served her church until her health would not allow her. She served with the Missions, chaired various committees, sang with the choir, and loved to work with decorating for special days and events. She was a devoted and dedicated member serving in any capacity needed.
She was a member of the Progressive Ladies, playing a key roll in the "Week Ender" and served as the business manager for the group. A member of Allied Cosmetology of ILL Assn., member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 340, and served as Voter registration.
Marsha leaves a loving family to cherish her memory. Three daughters LaVonne (Dan) Olek, Victoria Channing of Rockford, IL and Donna Schillcutt of Burnsville, MN. Two sons, Vincent Schillcutt of Indianapolis, In and Ocell Schillcutt Jr. Of Rockford, IL. God daughter Laura Wittacker-Thurman Thirteen grand children and six great grand children. Three sisters, Flora Cousin of Rockford, IL, Ethel Anderson of Detroit , MI and Diane Boatner, San Diego, CA., and sister-in-law Laura and Minster Lark. Three brothers, AZ (Estella) Jefferson, Tommie McCord of Rockford, IL, Archie (Sharon) Jefferson of Beloit, WI. Three aunts, Juanita Stewart of Minneapolis, MN, Dr. Martina ( Dr. Josiah) Martin of Colorado Springs, Co, and Linda ( Walter) Ward of Beloit, WI. Special cousins Mattie Parks of Beloit, WI and Lillie Belle Wilson of Waukesha, WI. Special friends, Linda Squire, Mary Barnett, Dorothy Wallace, Ava Turner, Barbara Williams and Flordett Leavy, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. She was predeceased in death by her father and mother, brother Donald Jefferson, uncles and aunts.
