Welcome to the memorial page for

Marquel Ingram

July 12, 1994 ~ June 18, 2014 (age 19) 19 Years Old
On Tuesday, July 12, 1994, at 4:53 p.m. weighing in at 7 pounds and 8 ounces, Marquel Xavier Ingram was born in Rockford Illinois to parents Rebecca Daniel & Gerald Ingram.
As a "First" - first son, grandson, great-grandson, nephew, and great nephew, Marquel with his beautiful eyes and sweet smile was loved and adored by many. Always a happy child, as a young boy Marquel enjoyed sword fighting and entertained his family and friends with imaginary fencing expositions. As he grew his gentle soul developed a love for animals and even declared that he wanted to someday be a veterinarian.
Marquel didn't seem to mind being an only child, but was so excited when his baby brother Kirkland was born so much so that he shared with him his middle name, 'Xavier'.
"Suffer little children and forbid them not"... .Matthew 19:14. On Sunday, May 15, 2005, Marquel was baptized at New Fellowship Baptist Church in Rockford, Illinois.
Learning was fundamental, and Marquel began his elementary education in Rockford, Illinois. His many learning experiences were great but Marquel valued even more the lasting and wonderful friendships that were made.
Travel and adventure were in store for Marquel and family as they first relocated to Pleasant Hills, California. There he attended junior high and his freshman year of high school where he played football. A year later, another career move by his loving mother took them to Chandler, Arizona. In Chandler not only did Marquel build even more wonderful friendships but he got a taste of what 'builds character' after landing his first job at Cosco.
Marquel enjoyed his new home in Arizona, but he loved coming back home spending time with family and friends in Rockford and Chicago, including a new little sister Eden.
Humble, caring, mild mannered and kind Marquel was maturing into an awesome young man. His creative skills took his once childhood imaginary sword fighting to another level incorporating it into his passion of online gaming and web designing something he enjoyed and was successful at. Though he no longer desired to be a veterinarian he still loved animals and affectionately cared for his puppy Abel. Occassionally when asked what he wanted to do he would answer, "be a Producer, producing videos, or computer-game programming" or, here lately, "maybe I'll just go into the Marines or Navy so I won't have to pay for school and can travel, I'm not sure, first I have to graduate"... and that's just what he did! On Wednesday, May 21, 2014, Marquel graduated from Compadre Academy where he happily walked across the stage to receive his high school diploma, an achievement that made him, his parents and family so very proud.
Marquel's life was full and complete, he loved and was loved so much, he laughed and made us laughed.
On Wednesday, June 18, 2014, suddenly Marquel was gone for the Lord gently called him back to His Heavenly Home though sad as we are our praises to You Lord we give because forever in our hearts and minds our darling Marquel will always live.
Rejoicing in his life and cherishing his memories; his mother Rebecca, brother Xavier, step-father Kirkland Matlock, father Gerald D.
