He graduated from West High School. He worked several jobs throughout the area. He was married formerly to Carolyn Cooper in Rockford, IL. He leaves to cherish many memories, mother Pearline Torrance, children: Coretta Williamson of Indianapolis, Indiana, James (Christy) Torrance Jr, Donie Torrance, Lekenda (Darrell) Torrance-Russell of Austin, Texas and 12 grandchildren. Siblings: Eddie (Debra) Torrance, Jonita Rodgers, Sylvia Barnes, Vanessa Dewalt of Rockfor, IL, Diane Torrance of Tampa, FL, Ernest (Palmer) Phillips, Alphonzo Torrance and long time companion: Norma Pearson and family, of Rockford, IL. A host of nieces and nephews, 2 aunts; Lura Graham and Dorothy Cooper, and one uncle; John Pryor. Predeceased by his father: Eddie Torrance Sr, brother: Nathan Torrance, grandson: Brandon Williamson.
