Hosie Mayweather, 88 of Rockford departed this earthly life early Thursday November 12, 2015. He was born January 28, 1927 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas; the son of Frank Mayweather and Mary Harris. He attended school in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Hosie was employed at Shepherd Engineering as a construction worker for 40 plus years. After retiring he spent his time as a handyman providing services to friends, family, and neighbors. Hosie attended Bethel Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member for 63 years up until he became ill. He served on the Usher Board and was a Deacon and Trustee during his membership. He also served as Mason in the Rockford chapter. Hosie was a kind, compassionate, loving and humble man of God. He leaves to cherish many loving memories. two daughters: Quanda (Carl) Curry, Mary Joyce (Curtis) Hildreth, On son: Drextel Clark; Three grandchildren: Sharice (Otis) Edwards, Brandon Clark, and Breanna Clark. Two great grandchildren, Two brothers: Willie Fonville of Pine Bluff, Ark, Alphonso (Mapeline) Mayweather. Special Friend - Dean Marks. Host of other family and friends too numerous to mention. Predeceased by one daughter Vanessa Smith, parents: Mary Harris and Frank Mayweather, two brothers, and one sister.
