Anthony O. Mackey, 47, of Rockford peacefully departed this earthly life Saturday, February 28, 2015.
He was born October 8, 1967 in Chicago, IL the son of Thomas O. and Marie A. Mackey. He lived in Rockford for 46 years, coming from Chicago. He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age, and was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Ushers Board. He attended Barbour Elementary School and Rockford East High School. He married Christy Lee, and to this union one child, Jordin Lee, was born.
He was employed as a machine operator at Rockford Toolcraft where he was loved by many. He also enjoyed playing basketball, playing cards and watching his two favorite teams, the Dallas
Cowboys and the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Anthony leaves to cherish many loving memories his mother ~ Marie A. Wofford; stepfather ~ Edward S. Wofford; two brothers ~ Marty Mackey and Edmond Terrell Wofford; sister ~ Linda Oliver; two sons ~ Antwon D. Rhodes and Jordin D. Lee; one daughter ~ Britney S. Domanski; three grandchildren , and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and also his three best friends ~ Andre, Derrick and Phill.
He was predeceased by his father, maternal and paternal grandparents and stepbrother ~ Ricky Langston.
