Lenier A. Floyd, of Rockford passed away on Monday, October 10, 2017 peacefully in his home. He was born on August 29, 1964 in Los Angeles, CA, the son of John and Dorothy Floyd. He lived in Rockford most of his life. Lenier is a graduate of Jefferson High School, class of 1984. He accepted Christ at a young age at New Fellowship Baptist Church. As a child, he served a Junior Deacon. He leaves behind his loving mother, Dorothy Floyd; brothers, Robert and his son, Kevin, Gentry and his son Shelton; sister, Delores (Ed) Speller and their children, Edward Jr, and Amya; special niece, Gensella (George) Floyd-Stevens and their children, Gen'Niyha and Amira; nephew, Myron (Annita) Simpson; uncle, Edward Floyd, aunt, Barbara (Rev. Clarence) Anderson and family; extended family Wilhemena Jones and family; Annie (Robert) Currie and family, and Gwen (Calvin) Young; Carl Posley and family; Brenda King caregiver; as well as a host of cousins, other relatives and dear friends. Lenier is predeceased by his father, sister, Renee Floyd Simpson, and brother Gilbert Floyd.
